In the bustling heart of India, where ancient traditions seamlessly blend with modern aspirations, a quiet revolution in wellness is unfolding. Meet Rashu Verma, a self-proclaimed “Student of Breath,” who has turned his personal struggles into a transformative movement, guiding people towards inner peace and optimal health through the power of breathwork.

From Rock Bottom to Resurgence

Rashu’s journey into breathwork wasn’t born out of curiosity but necessity. The years 2008-2009 were the darkest for him—following a heartbreaking divorce and financial betrayal by a close friend, he found himself engulfed in loneliness, anger, and despair. Life seemed devoid of meaning, and he was ready to give up. But amidst the gloom, a persistent nudge from his mother led him to try pranayama. That first breathwork session sparked something within him—a flicker of hope.

Growing up in Delhi, Rashu had once been a national athlete, excelling in swimming and basketball. His sports background had ingrained in him the resilience to push forward despite the odds. Breathwork as a Lifeline

Day by day, breath by breath, Rashu began to experience profound changes. He found solace in the simple yet powerful act of conscious breathing. By 2019 and 2020, he had deepened his practice through two intensive 10-day Vipassana courses. In 2021, his dedication culminated in a certification as a Functional Breathing Instructor with Oxygen Advantage, an internationally recognized breathwork methodology. The Wisdom of Breath

One of Rashu’s favorite stories, which he often shares in his sessions, is from the book The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy:

A boy and a horse were once in the woods. The boy says to the horse, “I can’t see my way forward.”

The Horse: Can you see your next step?

The Boy: Yes.

The Horse: Then take that step.

After taking that one step, the boy looks at the horse and says: Now what?

The horse: Can you see another step?

The boy: Yes.

The horse: Then take that.

The boy kept asking and the horse kept telling him to take only one step that he can see in front of him.

While embarking on any journey in life, our mind rushes to jump to the conclusions right away.

Always remember: A thousand miles journey starts with a single step.

With each step taken, you get nearer to your goal. Only think of the next step. That’s how you live because…Life is NOW.

This simple yet profound story encapsulates Rashu’s philosophy—healing and growth happen one step at a time. There’s no need to see the entire path; just take the next breath, the next step, and transformation will follow.

Rashu believes that our thoughts shape our reality. “If you don’t make time for your wellness now, you’ll be forced to make time for your illness later,” he often reminds his students. His teachings emphasize mindfulness, self-reflection, and the power of discipline over regret.
