About Dharte

What is Dharte?

Dharte is a sustainability and wellness marketplace that connects verified members — sellers across 12 categories — with the buyers who need them. We operate across India, the UK and the US, with payments in INR, GBP and USD. Operated by Dharte LLP, registered in Mumbai, India.

What does the word "Dharte" mean?

Dharte (धरती) means "Earth" in Hindi. The brand celebrates the four elements (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire) and the six dimensions of life (Health, Wealth, Family, Love, Environment, Happiness) — a holistic model behind every listing.

How is Dharte different from a regular marketplace?

Every member is verified (KYB) before going live. Many are Dharte-Certified — a deeper audit including session observation and sustainability claims. Members own their bookings and payouts via Stripe direct; Dharte facilitates discovery, marketing and trust.

Who runs Dharte?

Dharte LLP — a Limited Liability Partnership registered in India (LLPIN: ACU-4214). Registered office at B6, Beach Resort Society, 14 Bungalows Complex, Madh Island, Mumbai 400061.

Where can I learn more about the company?

Read the About page, browse Articles from the network, or email hello@dharte.com.

Member categories

What are the 12 member categories?

Every Dharte member is classified under exactly one of these twelve categories: Practitioner, Facilitator, Service Provider, Brand, Hospital, Wellness Centre, Factory, Institute, Artist, Venue, Influencer, Shop.

How is my member category decided?

Pick the category that best describes your business. Solo professionals (yoga teachers, therapists, coaches, doctors) are usually Practitioners or Facilitators. Organisations (companies, clinics, retreats, schools) fall into the org-level categories. The Dharte team confirms your category during onboarding.

What's the difference between a Practitioner and a Facilitator?

Practitioner — clinically or technically qualified (yoga teacher, therapist, ayurvedic doctor, nutritionist, naturopath). Facilitator — runs group experiences, circles, mentorship or community work (sound bath leader, men's circle host, mentor, retreat host).

What's a "Wellness Centre" vs a "Venue"?

Wellness Centre — a fixed centre delivering treatments / therapies (spa, salon, ayurveda centre, panchakarma clinic). Venue — a space rented for sessions, retreats or gatherings (shala, ashram, studio, retreat property).

What's a "Brand" vs a "Shop" vs a "Factory"?

Brand — has its own product line under a brand name. Shop — retails products from multiple brands (curated marketplace, store). Factory — manufactures or produces at scale, often white-labelled.

Can I be in more than one category?

One profile = one category. If your business spans two clear roles (e.g. a Brand that also runs Workshops), the listing types — Products, Services, Subscriptions, Events — let you cover both from a single profile.

Where do I see all members?

Browse them at /members — searchable by name, specialty, category and city.

Listing types

What can a member sell on Dharte?

Each member sells across exactly four listing types — and only these four — from a single profile:

  • Products — physical or digital goods (including ebooks).
  • Services — sessions, packages, courses or workshops, online or in-person.
  • Subscriptions — recurring memberships and ongoing programmes, billed monthly or yearly.
  • Events — anything date-anchored, online or in-person, with a set day and time.

What counts as a Product?

Anything tangible or downloadable: a bottle of moringa powder, a sandalwood mala, a cushion, an ebook, a recorded course, a card deck, an emotion-meter tool. Physical products ship; digital products download instantly. Digital products carry a "Digital Product" or "Ebook" sticker on the card.

What counts as a Service?

Anything booked for a date/time you choose: a 60-minute consult, a 12-week programme, a 5-session reiki package, a workshop, a course. Services can be online (Zoom) or in-person. Pricing can be one-off or per-session.

What counts as a Subscription?

Recurring revenue offers — billed automatically every month or every year. Examples: a monthly yoga membership, a quarterly nutrition programme, an annual mentorship retainer. The "Subscribe" button starts a recurring Stripe billing relationship; cancel anytime.

What counts as an Event?

Anything with a fixed start date and time: a weekend retreat, a 3-day exhibition, an 8-week live cohort, a 90-minute live workshop, a panel discussion. Events appear under the member's profile and on /events with date, time, location and ticket info.

Can I list a workshop as both a Service and an Event?

Generally no. If it has a set date and time, list it as an Event. If it's an evergreen course / package the buyer schedules with you, list it as a Service. Pick the one that fits the buyer experience best.

Where can I browse each type?

/products · /services · /subscriptions · /events. Or open a member profile to see all four sections in one place.

Can I list offline-only events?

Yes — offline events are fully supported and central to Dharte. Many members run exclusively in-person events: retreats, workshops, wellness circles, exhibitions. Listing an offline event simply means showing a venue and address rather than a video link. Everything else — ticketing, discovery, checkout — works the same.

Can I set a maximum attendee cap for an event?

Yes. You set the capacity when creating your event listing. Once that cap is reached, the "Reserve a spot" button closes automatically — no manual intervention needed. You can also mention the limit in the description for transparency.

Does a listing with zero sales still count toward my listing limit?

Yes — a listing occupies one of your slots while it is active, regardless of sales. Once an event date has passed or you archive/unpublish a listing, that slot frees up. The limit (6 for Standard, 24 for Premium) applies to active listings at any given time, not historical ones.

Buying & booking

Do I need an account to buy?

No — you can browse and check out as a guest. Creating a free Dharte account lets you see your past bookings and orders in one place.

How do I book a service or session?

Open a member profile, find the offer in the Services section, click Book, and pay via Stripe. The booking lands with the member — they'll confirm the time and any joining details (Zoom link, address, etc.).

How do I buy a product?

Open the product page, click Buy now, and complete the Stripe checkout. The order goes straight to the member for fulfilment. Digital products are delivered immediately; physical products ship per the member's policy.

How do I subscribe to a member?

Open the member profile, find the offer in the Subscriptions section, click Subscribe, and complete the recurring Stripe checkout. Cancel anytime from your account page.

How do I register for an event?

Open the event page or find it under the member's Events section, click Reserve a spot, and complete checkout. You'll receive a confirmation with the date, time and location or link.

How will I receive my booking confirmation?

Email — the same address you used at checkout. The member is also notified and may reach out via WhatsApp or email to confirm logistics.

Can I message a member before booking?

Yes — every member profile has a Send a message or Contact button. Your message routes directly to the member with Dharte CC'd for support.

Are there hidden fees?

No. The price you see on the listing is what you pay. No marketplace surcharge, no booking fee. Members and Dharte split commission internally.

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

Dharte uses PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways, routed automatically by currency and listing category. PayU and Stripe are the primary processors; CCAvenue and PayPal are the fallback (used for restricted listings or when the primary fails).

  • PayU (primary INR) — all INR payments. UPI, Netbanking, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Rupay, Wallets.
  • Stripe (primary international) — all non-INR payments where Stripe permits the category. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Subscriptions via Stripe Recurring.
  • CCAvenue (fallback INR) — used if PayU is unavailable or the listing falls in a restricted category. UPI, Netbanking, Cards, Wallets.
  • PayPal (fallback international) — used for non-INR listings Stripe restricts under its Acceptable Use Policy (astrology, tarot, occult, past-life, etc.), so the buyer's payment isn't blocked.
  • PayPal — non-INR fallback for categories Stripe restricts in India (e.g. astrology, tarot, occult, past-life regression — listed in their restricted businesses policy). Pay with PayPal balance, card or bank.
  • Pay with Crypto (via Stripe) — one-time marketplace payments only. USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Base via a connected wallet (MetaMask / WalletConnect / Coinbase Wallet). Stripe converts the crypto to fiat at checkout, so Dharte never custodies any crypto and receives normal Stripe settlement in INR. Not yet available for recurring memberships or subscriptions.

Can I pay with crypto?

Yes — on one-time marketplace purchases (Products, Services, Events, single-session bookings). At the Stripe checkout page, choose Pay with Crypto, connect a wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet) and complete the transaction in USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana or Base. Stripe handles the wallet connection, on-chain settlement and the conversion to fiat — Dharte receives INR via the standard Stripe payout. Recurring memberships and monthly/yearly subscriptions stay card-only for now because Stripe Crypto is one-time-only.

Why does the gateway change at checkout?

Different gateways have different category restrictions. By default, INR payments route through PayU and non-INR through Stripe. If a listing falls under a restricted category — anything Stripe India blocks under their Acceptable Use Policy (astrology, tarot, occult, past-life, etc.) or anything PayU's risk engine declines — we automatically fall back to CCAvenue (INR) or PayPal (international) so the buyer's payment isn't blocked.

What does the marketplace checkout flow look like?

Click Buy / Book / Subscribe / Reserve on any listing → land on the Dharte cart page → fill in your name, email, phone and billing address → click Pay → land on the gateway-hosted secure page (PayU for INR, Stripe for international) → enter your card / UPI / wallet → done. Receipt is emailed instantly.

What about the membership checkout flow?

On /membership, after picking your tier and signing the agreement: INR payments route through PayU (UPI / Netbanking / Cards), international payments route through Stripe. Switch currency from the header to flip between the two gateways. CCAvenue + PayPal stand by as fallback for restricted-category listings.

Which currencies can I pay in?

15 currencies presented: INR, USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD, SGD, AED, HKD, JPY, NZD, CHF, MYR, ZAR, THB. Your local currency is auto-selected based on your country; INR is the baseline. Settlement happens in INR per Stripe-India terms.

Is checkout secure?

Yes — Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Dharte never sees or stores your card number; it goes directly from your browser to Stripe over TLS 1.3. RBI's Additional Factor Authentication (3-D Secure) is enforced on Indian cards.

Can I save my card?

Yes — Stripe handles RBI-compliant card tokenisation. Saved cards are stored by Stripe (not Dharte) and can be re-used at next checkout.

Can I pay in instalments?

Some Premium-tier programmes offer split payments — check the listing for an instalment option. Otherwise, payment is collected upfront.

I don't recognise a charge from Dharte

Email hello@dharte.com with the date and amount before raising a chargeback. We resolve nearly every issue within 24 hours.

How do members get paid?

Stripe direct payouts. India members via UPI or bank transfer; international members via Stripe Connect. Payment processors take 7–10 business days to clear.

Refunds & cancellations

What is the refund policy?

Refunds depend on the listing type — see the full Cancellation & Refund Policy for timelines and exceptions.

Can I cancel a booked Service?

Bookings cancelled at least 24 hours before the start time are usually refundable. Inside 24 hours, refunds are at the member's discretion.

Can I return a Product?

Physical products: handled case-by-case with the member, per their return policy. Digital products: non-refundable once delivered (download started).

Can I cancel a Subscription?

Yes — cancel anytime from your account page. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current period continues until its end. No partial refunds.

Can I get a refund for an Event ticket?

Most events refund up to 7 days before the start date. Check the event page for exact terms — date-anchored events often have stricter cut-offs.

How long do refunds take to land?

5–7 working days back to the original payment method. We'll email confirmation when the refund is initiated.

Member memberships

Who needs a Dharte membership?

Anyone listing on the marketplace — across the 12 member categories. Buyers don't need a membership.

What can I list as a member?

All four listing types from one profile: Products, Services, Subscriptions and Events. Standard members can list up to 6 items; Premium up to 24.

Are there any other charges beyond the membership fee and commission?

No. The annual membership fee and your agreed commission on actual completed sales are the only two charges. No listing fees, no setup fees, no platform surcharges, nothing else.

Are there minimum sales targets or booking commitments?

None. There are no sales thresholds, minimum booking obligations, or performance requirements attached to your membership. Dharte only earns when you earn — commission is taken on completed sales only.

Will I be charged if none of my listings sell?

Only the annual membership fee you've already paid. If nothing sells, Dharte earns no commission. Zero sales = zero commission.

Are there cancellation or penalty charges if no tickets are sold?

No. If no tickets have been sold for an event, there is nothing to cancel and no charges apply. Dharte does not penalise members for events that don't sell out.

What do the two tiers cost?

Standard — for solo members (Practitioners, Facilitators, Artists, Influencers) — ₹1,800 / £15 / $19.95 per year. Premium — for organisations (Brands, Hospitals, Wellness Centres, Institutes, Venues, Factories, Shops) — ₹24,000 / £189 / $249 per year. See full inclusions.

Does Dharte take a commission?

Yes — Dharte runs on membership + commissions. The annual fee covers verification, listing access and platform tools. You choose two commission rates at sign-up, both with a minimum of 15%, and you can adjust either from your dashboard:

  • B2C commission — 15% to 50%, on MRP — on Dharte website. Price must be the same everywhere you sell. At 15% on ₹1,000 MRP you keep ₹850. Applies to all sales (Products, Services, Subscriptions, Events).
  • B2B commission — 9% to 30%, on order value. When Dharte places your offerings with shops, retailers and buyers. At 9% on a ₹10,000 order you keep ₹9,100. Includes all promoter commissions.

Different rates are allowed for each — choose what feels right for you. Introducers and promoters are managed by Dharte separately, on Dharte's own share, so there are no further splits to think about.

All commission terms are set out in the Dharte Membership Agreement, which you sign at checkout.

Can I change my commission rate later?

Yes — adjust it any time from your member dashboard. Existing bookings/orders settle at the rate in force when they were made; new ones use the current rate.

Are commissions on Dharte-introduced clients perpetual?

Yes. Any client first introduced to you through Dharte's platform, events, network, referrals or marketing is a "Dharte Client". The agreed commission applies to all their future business with you through any channel — online or offline — for as long as that relationship continues, regardless of whether your membership is renewed, expired, or terminated.

This clause does not stop you from working with those clients. You remain completely free to continue your practice and serve them however you choose. The clause simply ensures Dharte receives the commission on business that flows from introductions it made — the same principle as any agent or introducer arrangement. Clients you acquired through your own channels before or outside of Dharte are not affected. See clause 5 of the Membership Agreement.

Can I price lower elsewhere?

No — price parity is a condition of the Membership Agreement. The prices of every Product, Service, Subscription and Event that is listed on Dharte must be uniform across all your sales channels. No lower prices, no better bundles, no exclusive discounts off-platform for listed items.

Does price parity apply to events or services I run that aren't listed on Dharte?

No. The price parity clause applies only to items actively listed on Dharte. If you run a separate event on a different date that you choose not to list on Dharte, you are completely free to price it however you like — any discount, bundle, or arrangement, with no restriction. The clause is scoped to listed items, not to your practice as a whole.

Does price parity apply to private, corporate or group bookings?

Yes, for events and services that are listed on Dharte. The agreement covers "any channel including private sales" — so a corporate group booking for a listed event should be at the same rate as on Dharte. Events or services you run privately that are not listed on Dharte are not affected.

How do I end my Dharte membership?

Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' written notice. Membership fees are non-refundable. Commission obligations on Dharte-introduced clients and any outstanding payments continue after termination in perpetuity. Email hello@dharte.com from your registered address to start the process.

How long does verification take?

Individual KYC: 3–5 business days. Business KYB: 5–7 business days. After approval, we schedule a 30-minute onboarding call.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes — cancel auto-renewal anytime by emailing hello@dharte.com. No refund for the unused portion of an active term.

Where do I apply?

Start at /membership — pick a tier, fill in your details, sign the agreement, and complete payment.

Vanity URLs

What is a vanity URL?

A short, memorable URL like dharte.com/yourname that redirects to your full member profile. Use it on business cards, social bios, signatures.

Who gets a vanity URL?

Every Standard and Premium member can claim a vanity handle. They're set up on the onboarding call after verification.

How do I claim a handle?

Email hello@dharte.com with your three preferred choices, in order of preference. Handles are first-come, first-served and must be unique.

What can my handle look like?

Lower-case letters, numbers and dashes only. Typically your first name, business name, or a memorable phrase.

Verification & certification

What is KYC / KYB?

KYC (Know Your Customer) — identity verification for individual members. KYB (Know Your Business) — entity verification for organisations. Both check identity, qualifications, public reviews and credentials before going live.

How is Dharte Certification different from KYB?

Certification goes deeper — the Dharte team observes the member in action, sits sessions, audits sustainability claims and product origins. Certified members carry a visible "Dharte Certified" badge across the network.

Is certification required?

No. Verification (KYC/KYB) is required to list. Certification is optional and adds a trust layer — typically pursued by Premium members.

How do I become Dharte Certified?

Email hello@dharte.com after your member profile is live. The team will schedule the audit, which can take 2–6 weeks depending on category.

Promoter Program

What is the Promoter Program?
