Hanuman Dass
Hanuman Dass is a spiritual teacher and social activist based in London, best known as the founder of Go Dharmic — a global humanitarian movement whose guiding principle is as simple as it is demanding: compassion in action. Built on the ideal of love all, feed all, serve all, Go Dharmic has grown into an international network with active chapters in England, Scotland, the United States and India. Grounded in Hindu bhakti traditions, Hanuman Dass has spent years building a community that takes devotion out of the temple and into the street, making the doing of good an inseparable part of spiritual life.
Through Go Dharmic, Hanuman Dass coordinates weekly food-distribution programmes run entirely by volunteers, as well as crisis and disaster relief efforts, school-building projects and reforestation and climate initiatives. Alongside this seva-driven charity work he founded SoulSensei, a platform that connects people with wellbeing and spiritual teachers from across traditions. His personal teaching draws on bhakti — the yoga of devotion — and he leads spiritual retreats, bhajan jams, meditation gatherings and devotional events that bring communities together around shared practice and the joy of collective chant.
What distinguishes Hanuman Dass from many spiritual teachers is the insistence that inner work and outer service are not two separate paths. His retreats are not offered as an escape from the world but as preparation for fuller engagement with it. The communities around Go Dharmic — volunteers who show up to cook and distribute food, plant trees or rebuild after disaster — are themselves practitioners of a kind, enacting the teachings rather than merely receiving them. This unity of contemplation and action gives his work a coherence that is rare and recognisable.
Go Dharmic will speak most directly to those who feel drawn to devotional practice but want their spirituality to carry social weight — people who are looking not just for personal peace but for meaningful contribution. The bhajan jams and meditation gatherings offer an accessible entry point for newcomers, while the seva programmes welcome anyone ready to show up and serve. Whether your interest is in spiritual community, conscious activism or simply being around people who mean what they say, Hanuman Dass and Go Dharmic are worth knowing.
