Dr. Amol Patil

April 2026 · 3 min read

On the Sangli–Kolhapur bypass road, tucked into a landscape of tended gardens near the village of Nimshirgao, sits a wellness centre whose name is almost a manifesto. In Sanskrit, tapasya is the fire of disciplined practice — the willingness to do the hard, patient, transformative work that true change requires. It is the perfect word for what Dr. Amol Patil has built.

Founded in 2021, Tapasya Health and Wellness is an NABH-certified centre for Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy (AYN). The idea is simple and ambitious: to make the most authentic forms of these ancient sciences accessible to a modern patient, with the rigour of contemporary clinical practice. Dr. Amol Patil himself is a graduate of the prestigious KLE University, Belgaum, completed his M.D. in Ayurveda from Pune University, and then secured a fellowship in Trivandrum to deepen his mastery of the Kerala tradition — the most authoritative stream of Ayurvedic medicine in India. With more than fifteen years of clinical experience and over 10,000 patients treated, he has been selected as a global leadership team member of Fight Cancer Global (FCG).

His specialities reflect the problems modern India most needs addressed: digestive disorders, diabetes, obesity, PCOD, hypothyroidism, spine and joint conditions (including sciatica, spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis), skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, stress-related disorders, menstrual and fertility issues, and integrative support for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Tapasya offers the full suite of classical Panchakarma therapies — external treatments like massage, pottali, dhara, and steam, alongside internal detoxification through Vaman, Virechan, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshan. The centre also provides Rutucharya (seasonal regimen management), yoga therapy, acupuncture, and personalised Satvic meals designed to ignite each guest’s inner digestive fire.

What visitors most often remark on, though, is the feel of the place. The gardens. The unhurried rhythm. The well-trained staff who know each guest’s schedule by heart. The mornings that begin with yoga and meditation, the days that move through treatment and rest, the meals that are as medicinal as they are delicious. Reviews describe it, again and again, as “a home away from home.” In 2026, Dr. Amol is bringing Tapasya’s work to the international AYUSH Expo in Dubai — another small step in his quiet mission to let ancient Indian healing meet the world on its own terms.
