Kerala Naturals
In 2012, in the culturally rich Kottayam district of Kerala, a quiet company was born with a simple ambition: to connect the world’s customers to the purest essence of the Western Ghats. Thirteen years later, Kerala Naturals is one of India’s most trusted D2C (direct-to-consumer) natural-product brands, serving over 200,000 satisfied customers across more than 100 countries.
The story behind the brand is a family one. Founded by Mathew Joseph — a postgraduate with certifications in e-commerce who spent years at Kuwait National Petroleum Company and later at Global Ayurveda Magazine — and his wife Preethy Mathew, the business grew from attending exhibitions and noticing how much international interest there was in Indian organic products. They returned home to Kerala and started small. Today, Kerala Naturals is ISO 9001:2015 certified and operates a warehouse and direct-shipping network out of the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia — so customers anywhere in the world can order and receive freshly sourced Indian spices with a single click.
The product range covers everything a traditional Kerala household draws on: whole spices and pepper directly from farmers in the Western Ghats; Ayurvedic and wellness powders including Ashwagandha; wild forest honey; jackfruit products (raw green jackfruit powder, jackfruit seed powder); wood-pressed coconut oil; traditional flours and natural sweeteners; Ayurvedic herbal powders; natural hair-care herbs; skin-care ingredients; and handicrafts rooted in Kerala’s artisan traditions. Every product is processed with traditional, gentle techniques — sun-drying, low-temperature drying, stone grinding, slow milling — that preserve nutritional integrity and natural aroma, without preservatives, colours, or additives.
What most inspires visitors to Kerala Naturals’ Kadanad facility is not the range or the logistics — it is the team. Kerala Naturals is an entirely women-oriented organisation, built on a mantra of “collective effort and success.” The women employees, as the company describes them, are “not just staff — they are the pillars of our growth, the caretakers of quality, and the ambassadors of our values.” For anyone trying to cook Indian food from anywhere in the world, with the confidence that the ingredients are exactly what they claim to be, Kerala Naturals has spent thirteen years quietly making it simple.
